As 3D software, Maya is always said to be weak and hard to handle in 2D rendering and meticulous painting. For “The Beauty,” the production team explored Maya’s potential for representing old Chinese-style painting and murals, including delicate characters, majestic palace scenes, thousands of soldiers fighting in a battlefield full of smoke and fire, and dancers with long, flowing silk inner sleeves.
