According to the 2005 Benchmark Land Prices for Prefectural and City Governments announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Nagoya firmly occupies third place in the national ranking of commercial land price increases. After losing roughly one-fourth of its area at the time of the Pacific War, Nagoya quickly adopted an urban plan oriented toward post-war restoration of the city. Located between commercial areas like Tokyo and Osaka and having an advantageous position with respect to logistics, Nagoya has focused on developing automotive manufacturing enterprises and currently handles around 70% of the national import/export trade. The city is becoming a global manufacturing center. This 1:40 computer animation illustrates the active expansion of manufacturing in Nagoya. The specific processes of production lines in factories were abstracted through procedural animation.
