Xander Kennedy brings a blend of creative insight and technical expertise to his role as CG Supervisor at Image Engine. Since joining the studio in 2021, he has contributed to high-profile projects including The Gorge, Dune: Prophecy, Leave the World Behind, and Foundation Season 2. His work includes managing and collaborating across departments, aligning with production goals, overcoming technically creative challenges while maintaining targets and ensuring deliveries meet client and VFX supervisor expectations. Xander also helps design and implement new tools and ideas to support the workflow when necessary. Leveraging his prior experience in Image Engine’s Workflow Department, Xander quickly adapts to the unique requirements of each production. His deep understanding of our advanced pipeline allows him to seamlessly align with diverse methodologies while enhancing each project’s grasp of its technical capabilities. Additionally, Xander has played a key role in the design and implementation of innovative tools and solutions across multiple projects. Before Image Engine, Xander worked at MPC in Montreal as a key lighting artist on Aquaman and spent the early part of his career in Australia at Luma Pictures, where he got his start in comp and lighting, building a strong foundation in both the creative and technical sides of visual effects. At Luma, he contributed to major Marvel films such as the Oscar-nominated Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Black Panther. Originally from New Zealand, Xander studied at Media Design School, graduating with a Bachelor of Art and Design. With the ability to communicate creative ideas, Xander places a high value on clear collaboration between departments to identify key priorities and move projects forward efficiently.
