Artist Statement:
Panoramic photography captures a series of time and space as a landscape in a moment. A photographer of panoramic photograph is present in it as an invisible observer by his absence. Panoramic view captured by panoramic photography can symbolize a human desire of owning the whole world. Moreover, the observer gains a superiority to the subjects being observed by putting himself into complete inside and distinguishing himself from the outside. However, dis-junctions sometimes occurs on the photographs during the process of reproducing the view. The dis-junction can remind of transform faults between geographical plates. In this work, I examine what the virtual faults can visualize.
