Description:
A stop-motion psychological comedy set in a run-down 1950s diner. Le Charade follows the final performance of a lonely mime and the psychotic episode that ensues after his imaginary friend breaks up with him and he is forced to re-enter society.
The film was produced in 30 weeks at the Savannah College of Art and Design, written and directed by Erika Totoro as the senior thesis for a team of 8 students. The film’s use of 3D printing technology was an advancement for the College, setting a record of 55 face replacements, and making it one of the school’s first to use stereolithography 3D printing technology for stop-motion filmmaking. The film also utilizes mixed media by creating digitally enhanced smear frames on the raw images through Photoshop in post.
