This film uses anthropomorphic characters to describe “a moment when one cannot let go of emotions,” using the complex emotions of that instant to give rise to each character. The masked man who keeps chasing the boy is actually the boy after he has let go, his rational self; the boy is “the self trapped in memories,” and the girl is “a fragmented emotional memory.”
