Abstract:

Over the last three decades there has been a headlong development and maturing of the technologies of real-time computer graphics, virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality. Professor Jeffrey Shaw’s world-renowned art practice during this period has pioneered multitudinal creative applications for these technologies. In his keynote presentation Jeffrey Shaw will talk about some of the landmark installations he has made along the way, culminating in his most recent researches that push the scientific, aesthetic and cultural boundaries of these technologies in ever more meaningful directions. Citing Saul Steinberg, Jeffrey Shaw’s formative achievements “…play with the voyage between perception and understanding.”
