SIGGRAPH 2003
You want to add realism to your character movements and reduce the time to complete animation scenes? Use your own motion data for animations in computer games, video clips, cartoons or simulations!SIMI offers you SIMI°MotionCapture 3D, an optical motion capture system for Microsoft Windows based on standard technologies. It allows you to use any kind of camera equipment for video aquisition, a Pentium-III-compatible PC will also be sufficient. The video data can be transfered with an ordinary video board into your computer.Recording of the scenes can take place anywhere – outside, in the studio or even in your office. A minimum of two cameras is required, up to six can be processed. After a quick calibration shot you can start recording your movement. Actors and objects are unlimited and absolutely free in their movements. Application of tracking markers is optional. After tracking in SIMI°MotionCapture 3D is completed, you can view, check and edit the results. Finally you export the data to your preferred animation package (e.g. 3ds max, Maya, Softimage|3D, Softimage|XSI, LightWave 3D, Cinema 4D, Poser).
SIGGRAPH 2002
Three-dimensional optical motion-capture software including export for common animation packages like Softimage, Maya, 3ds max, and Lightwave. Allows realistic character animation and flexible, economical motion capturing.
SIGGRAPH 2001
