Title:

    A feedback control system for desired deformation of cloths by time varying stable forms

Presenter(s)/Author(s):

Abstract:

    In the cloth simulation algorithm which is proposed in this paper, the Newtonian dynamics equation of the cloth deformation r(t) at time t is derived as a feedback control system whose control input becomes a stable form ( a form of a paper pattern for a cloth ) s of the cloth r, as this abstract shows. In the real world, the real stable form ( a form of a paper pattern for a cloth ) s does not change as the time t goes on, from the physical view point. But, in the virtual world, we can change the stable forms as the time t goes on. By changing this stable form s(t) appropriately, i.e. by using appropriate time varying stable form s(t) , we can achieve the desired deformation r(t) of the cloth easily, as the attached figure files and movie files show.
