    Darwyn Peachey has worked on animation and rendering software at Pixar since 1988. He received M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in computer science from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. Prior to joining Pixar he spent three years developing UNIX kernel software and four years as a member of the computer science research staff at the University of Saskatchewan, where he published two SIGGRAPH papers and other research papers in graphics, operating systems, and artificial intelligence. Peachey has spoken in seven SIGGRAPH courses. He was a member of the paper selection committees of SIGGRAPH 92 and 93, and Graphics Interface 86, 88 (as Program Chairman), 89, 90, 91, and 95. He and six Pixar colleagues recently received a Scientific & Engineering Academy Award for the RenderMan rendering system from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

    SIGGRAPH 1993

    Darwyn Peachey is an Animation Scientist at Pixar. Since 1988 he has worked on the design and implementation of the Render Man renderers and the in house Menv animation system. Peachey received MSc and BSc degrees in computer science from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada. Prior to joining Pixar he spent four years as a member of the computer science research staff at the University of Saskatchewan where he published two SIGGRAPH papers and other research papers in graphics, operating systems and AI. Peachey has spoken in five earlier SIGGRAPH courses. He was a member of the paper selection committees of SIGGRAPH 92 and 93, and Graphics Interface 86, 88, 89, 90 and 91, and was Program Chair of Graphics Interface 88. He and six coworkers received a 1993 Scientific & Engineering Academy Award for the RenderMan rendering software from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

    Darwyn Peachey is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Pixar. Since 1988 he has been closely involved in the implementation and evolution of the Render Man Interface and Pixar’s rendering products. Darwyn received the M.Sc. and B.SC. degrees in computer science from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada. Prior to joining Pixar he spent three years developing UNIX operating system software at the Hospital Systems Study Group, and four years as a Research Associate in computer science at the University of Saskatchewan.
