Abstract:
Create(x) is a new emerging media laboratory at the the University of Hawaiʻi at West Oʻahu (UHWO) Academy for Creative Media (ACM). Create(x) is a collaborative space to encourage students, researchers, and community members to develop interactive experiences at the intersection of Pacfiic Island knowledge, art, and storytelling, through leveraging emerging advances in science and technology.
This presentation will describe the goals of Create(x) and Wao Ki’i in more detail, such as how Wao Ki’i was designed through an equitable design framework based on other Indigenous frameworks and methodologies.
